Monday Tech Talks: National Internet Safety Month Webinar Series

June is National Internet Safety Month.

As part of the NDAA’s commitment to bolstering online safety for children we are bringing you a series of webinars in the month of June to provide law enforcement, prosecutors, their investigators and other members of the prosecution team with a comprehensive understanding of how to work with and gather digital evidence from a variety of digital platforms. We are also highlighting the work being done by non-governmental organizations and other organizations to protect children online.  This series has been made possible with the support of Kodex. 

On June 16, 2025, representatives from Discord and Meta will join us to discuss their law enforcement response programs. These sessions will cover an introduction to these platforms and their safety measures, what records are maintained, and the collaboration process to request information.  Attendees will learn about the types of data available, and each platform’s safety initiatives.  

Discord is the communications platform that enables people aged 13+ to build meaningful connections around the joy of playing games through voice, video, and text features.

Meta’s mission is to build the future of human connection and the technology that makes it possible. Our products empower more than 3 billion people around the world to share ideas and offer support. When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented, virtual, and mixed reality to help build the next evolution in social technology.

The re_direct Project is a pioneering whole-of-society approach to some of the most pernicious issues facing our young people in their online lives. Current and former law enforcement, defense attorneys, and former cybercriminals have come together to build programs designed to surround our youngest digital citizens from the moment they become active online, to their first job in tech. We partner with major tech companies, other non-profits, and experts in the criminal justice system to meet our young people where they are. We are building community to secure the digital futures of Gen Z and Gen A.

Who Should Attend: This webinar is ideal for prosecutors, investigators, and law enforcement involved in child exploitation cases or any case containing digital evidence.

Q&A Session: Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions during the registration process as well as during the presentation. There will also be a dedicated Q&A session at the end.
