You have been assigned a high-profile and complex homicide case. You have received the evidence and the charging documents and made a very reasonable offer for the defendant to plead guilty and he has declined. You have complied with all the defense discovery requests. You are now set for trial. What other ethical and professional responsibility obligations do you have?  What if any challenges do you anticipate from your Judge, the attention hungry defense attorney or even the media. What if any Batson challenges do you foresee? Do you have any unique statutory obligations in your jurisdiction? What about liability anxieties ? What about surprise defense motions or attacks during trial?  Our veteran faculty member will discuss the ethical and professional responsibility obligations that arise in every stage of trial. Work through case examples that depict current challenges you face with cases on your dockets and obtain meaningful explanations. Participation is encouraged!
