Summary: The Boulder, Colorado Center for Prevention and Restorative Justice will present on the importance of having restorative justice programs, the components of such programs, and the results of such programs. This will help jurisdictions around the country who are seeking to incorporate restorative justice programs into their juvenile justice systems learn how to do so, what resources are needed, and how to involve victims in the process.
Learning Objectives:
(1) Understand what restorative justice programs are and how the process works.
(2) Learn what resources are needed to incorporate restorative justice into juvenile justice systems.
(3) Gain knowledge about how to collaborate with community partners to build restorative justice programs

Erin Siffing

Boulder County, CO
Erin Siffing is a Deputy District Attorney and the Deputy Director of the Center for Prevention and Restorative Justice at the Twentieth Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Boulder, Colorado. Since 2006, her work has focused on the development, implementation, and evaluation of diversion and restorative justice programming for youth and adults. Erin helped oversee the creation of the Boulder DA’s in-house restorative justice program and the significant growth of its successful diversion programs. She is passionate about the use of restorative practices to improve justice system outcomes by promoting meaningful accountability, repair of harm, and community safety. Erin has facilitated hundreds of restorative justice processes and trained extensively at the local, state, and national level. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law.

Christian Gardner-Wood
Chief Deputy District Attorney
Bould County - 20th Judicial District Attorney's Office
Christian Gardner-Wood is Chief Deputy District Attorney at the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office. He graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 2007 and has spent his entire career as a Deputy District Attorney. Christian oversees the Community Protection Division and the Center for Prevention and Restorative Justice for the Twentieth Judicial District. In these roles, he coordinates outreach, policy, and legislation for the office, and supervises the Diversion and Restorative Justice Unit. He regularly presents in the areas of human trafficking, child abuse, sexual assault, prosecution skills, financial exploitation, elder abuse, and diversion and restorative justice.
