Summary: Originally a live webinar on July 10, 2024, this webinar introduces attendees to different programs and approaches to intervening in the lives of older youth. The course includes a discussion about what unique factors impact older youth in the juvenile justice system, and what their programmatic needs are. Specific interventions being utilized in different states are discussed. This program focuses on age-appropriate services for older youth, recognizing that they are still youth. The program also focuses on community-based interventions for older youth whereby youth remain at home, with their families while receiving services.
Learning Objectives:
(1) Learn about the needs of older youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
(2) Learn about effective principles of interventions for older youth.
(3) Learn about specific community-based programs being implemented in different parts of the country.
