There will be a discussion of recent developments and trends in the creation and distribution of Generative AI CSAM.
· How these trends are impacting investigations and prosecution in both state and federal offices.
· How are prosecutors currently dealing with Generative AI CSAM cases and a discussion about the legal challenges pursuing cases of AI-generated content.
· What are the ongoing legislative efforts aimed at addressing the problem and identifying the gaps or shortcomings in the existing laws or regulations.
· Explore the delicate balance between addressing Generative AI CSAM and respecting First Amendment rights.
· Discuss the broader implications for the future of child exploitation and online safety.

Angela Brunson
Deputy District Attorney
Riverside County District Attorney's Office
Angela Brunson is a Riverside County Deputy District Attorney assigned to both the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team (SACA) and the Computer and Technology Crimes High-Tech Response Team (CATCH). From October of 1997 through June of 2023, she was a prosecutor in Los Angeles. Since May of 2016, she has prosecuted online child predators and child sexual abuse material cases. She has completed Levels 1 and 2 of Digital Evidence for Prosecutors at the National Computer Forensics Institute. She has provided child exploitation related training to multiple agencies in the United States, Vietnam, and Qatar. Angela was recently sworn in and cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney assigned to Project Safe Childhood cases. Outside of the office, she is a motorcycle racer and the proud owner of two ridiculously silly Pygmy goats.
Ross Goldman
Senior Policy and Appellate Counsel, Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section

Ross Goldman graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2008, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Virginia Law Review. Upon graduating, Ross worked for Covington & Burling LLP in Washington DC for a year before he left to clerk on the Second Circuit during the 2009-2010 term. After clerking, Ross returned to Covington, where he handled a variety of appellate and white collar matters, among other things. In 2012, Ross joined the Department of Justice as an Attorney in the Criminal Division’s Appellate Section. Over the ensuing 11 years, Ross handled a variety of federal criminal appeals, and he developed a specialty in handling appeals involving a wide array of child sex crimes. In the summer of 2023, Ross joined the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section as a detailee, where he holds the position of Senior Policy and Appellate Counsel.
Robert Leazenby

Robert Leazenby is a member of Raven, a 501(c)4 political lobby, Raven protects children from victimization by raising awareness of the threat of online child exploitation, increasing resources, and funding to law enforcement, and lobbying for policy changes on the local and federal level.
He is also an Associate Vice President with the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) where he is responsible for the direct supervision of a team of high-tech, financial, and intelligence subject matter experts. Prior to coming to NW3C in 2020, Robert retired from a thirty-year law enforcement career culminating as the Commander of the Wyoming ICAC.
Robert was a member of the ICAC community for 19 years conducting investigations and computer forensic examinations.

Lorena Vollrath-Bueno

National District Attorneys Association
Lorena Vollrath-Bueno is the Vice President of Education &Engagement of the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA), having joined the NDAA in April of 2023 after spending almost twenty (20) years as a prosecutor at both the state and federal levels. Her most recent prosecutorial position was with the State Attorney’s Office, 2nd Judicial Circuit, as a Chief Assistant and Education Coordinator. While there, she specialized in the prosecution of homicides, sex crimes, child exploitation, human trafficking, ICAC, as well as being the human trafficking subject matter expert for the office.
